What's the best way to send recipes to someone else?

The best way to send recipes to someone else is to use RXF files.

Recipe Exchange Format files, or RXF files, are a new file format developed by Resort Software.

RXF files are designed to store recipe and ingredient data in a highly compact and portable manner for transfer via floppy diskette or the Internet.

RXF files can handle:-

An unlimited number of recipes and ingredients in a single compact binary file.

Name, Description, Notes, Method, Author, multiple Keywords, and Picture (BLOB) fields for each recipe. (Note, all fields except a recipe's name are optional).

All text fields are stored as variable length fields with no length limit.

No limit to the number of component ingredients in each recipe.

Name, quantity, and unit fields stored for all recipe component ingredients.

RXF files are appendable.  You can append recipes to the end of an existing RXF file.

Resort Restaurant can both import and export Recipe Exchange files via Import Wizard and Export Wizard.

NOTE: RXF files do NOT include recipe or ingredient costing information.  If you wish to send recipes to someone, we recommend that you create a new (empty) Resort Restaurant database and export selected recipes to that database.  This will ensure that all required costing information is included with the recipes.
