OK, I've created a new database, so what do I do now?

Once you have created your new database, all you really have is the empty shell of a database.

This means that there is not really any data, as such, in it.  It is recommended that you follow a number of steps in entering data into your database.

1. Create your categories

2. Create your suppliers

3. Import or create your ingredients

4. Create your recipes

By entering your data in this order, you will be able to create a more completed database straight away.

NOTE 1:  Don't be discouraged if it seems to be taking a long time to get your data complete.  Once something is entered into the program you will not need to enter it again.

NOTE 2: It is recommended if you have entered a large amount of data, that you perform a backup.  For more information see the topic on backing up your data.

From here you will have enough information to create any menus you may require.

For more information on setting up your new database see the topic on structuring your data.
